Building better approaches to homelessness, together

We help organizations, governments, researchers, and educators turn lived expertise into better housing and homelessness policies and practices. Explore practical guidance, learn alongside us, or work with our team through training and consultation.

Toolkit

Meaningful engagement takes relationship building, resourcing, and accountability. Our toolkit offers practical guidance on building lived-experience teams, offering fair compensation, preventing tokenism, and creating the conditions for an open exchange of knowledge.

Resources

Keep learning and find support for your next steps. Explore our training overviews and connect with our Community of Practice to exchange ideas, work through challenges, and strengthen lived experience engagement together.

Trainings

Bring your questions, challenges, and community’s context. We offer education, training, and consultation grounded in lived expertise and professional practice, helping your team deepen its understanding of homelessness and put ethical engagement into action.

About i2i

i2i (Insight to Impact) brings together the education, training, and consulting work of the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa’s Expert Steering Team, or EST. The EST is a group of housing and homelessness professionals with lived experience of homelessness who use their skills and expertise to improve system planning processes, program design, and public education.

Our work grows from what we’ve learned together: meaningful change takes trust, collaboration, and recognition of the expertise we each bring. We share practical approaches that help communities across Canada (and beyond) ensure lived experience is integrated, respected, and valued.
